SHARNY & DREW

When I was told Sharny and Drew’s wedding location was a ‘family property’, what I didn’t picture was an epic riverside property tucked away in the Swan Valley. Sharny and Drew said ‘I do’ under the gazebo built by her Uncle, with friends and fam packing it out, pouring onto the surrounding lawn. Lauren and I set the vibe with a half-hour acoustic set as guests arrived.

As Sharny and her gals made their way down the aisle we sung a slower, duet version of Mumford & Sons’ “I Will Wait”. These two had been long distance for a large portion of their relationship, making the lyrics super special.

Post-vows, during the signing, Lauren and I played an acoustic version of Matt Corby’s “Miracle Love” before the couple returned, making their exit to a stripped-back version of “At Last” by Etta James.

The weather was kind enough to give keep the rain away, with two stormy days either side threatening to spoil the fun. The sun even came out for a hot minute, though I had a nice, pink head to show for it.

The bridal party split off to take some piccies, friends and fam made their way to reception and Lauren and I set up on the green for another acoustic set.

Struttin’ through the crowd to “Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone, Sharny and Drew made their big entrance. The rest of the bridal party had casually snuck in earlier though, rather than being introduced.

Friends and fam gathered around for an emotional series of speeches, each with an intro song picked the bride and groom. These included John William’s “Star Wars Theme”, “Danger Zone” and “Oh, Pretty Woman” for the pretty best man.

With sweaty eyes the couple stepped onto the dance floor for their first dance to “Love Is For The Foolish” by Sleep For Sleepers. Sharny’s Dad came forward to take Drew’s spot half-way through, as ‘planned’, but a sneaky scratch into “Jackson” by Johnny and June Cash made the two erupt on the dance floor; a surprise the couple had schemed up earlier.

The dance floor was swarmed for the rest of the night. The 70’s and 80’s classics came out early, eventually overthrown by noughties hits that carried the night away.

Lovesick were amazing from the day we sent our first email. Rhyan is so on to his communication and organisation and the entire process was incredibly relaxed, but beyond professional. We had ‘the big day’ package for our wedding and so loved having Rhyan & Lauren’s beautiful voices throughout our ceremony and cocktail hour. The DJ set was exactly what we wanted, Rhyan knew exactly what songs to play to keep the dancefloor pumping! It was perfect, we cannot recommend them enough.
