FIONA & JAMES

at Tanah Marah

As friends and fam gathered beside the lake at Tanah Marah, Lauren and I set the atmosphere with some stripped back folk tunes. The clouds teased us with rain but held off long enough to allow for the perfect ceremony!

Fiona and her bridesmaids walked down the aisle to a stripped back, acoustic version of RÜFÜS DU SOL banger “Innerbloom”.

By the time Fiona and James walked off to sign the registry the party had already begun. Guests waited for their return while we strummed through an acoustic version of “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire. The wedding party then swaggered back down the aisle to “This Will Be” by Natalie Cole.

Migrating to the reception area, we set up for an hour of acoustic music as friends and fam filled up on drinks and canapés. Weaved into the set were covers of Triple J favs, 90’s hits and some golden oldies.

The rain again decided to threaten our good time, but was actually more refreshing than anything.

Returning from their photoshoot with Pete, the wedding party made their entrance while “Love is Real” by Loods and Mall Grab blasted.

Speeches followed, with each person assigned their intro song for the walk up. “Dancing Queen” for the Mother of the bride, “James Bond Theme” for the bride & groom and “Erotic City” by Prince for the best man (this was only Erotic City’s first of three appearances for the night).

Fiona and James had their first dance under the stars to Savage Garden’s “Truly Madly Deeply” before guests swarmed the dance floor and cranked up the energy. Dfloor vibes were a total mixed bag of goodies, kicking off with some 80’s hits, followed by noughties club classics, angsty teen punk, disco house and the epic finale: RÜFÜS DU SOL’s full nine and a half minute “Innerbloom”.

Rhyan and Lauren were awesome and made our day that little bit extra special. Rhyan’s communication and attention to detail were all on point, and he was very receptive to our requests. Their acoustic set and DJ package provides a point of difference compared to our vendors / providors, and we really thought their service provides unmatched value and we really appreciated their contribution on the day. Great stuff guys!
